Healing Gardens

During the last six years, SLH CEO, Kelly Mather, has promoted the development of a stunning campus here at Sutter Lakeside Hospital & Center For Health.

Today, numerous fountains adorn the landscape, providing tranquil sights and sounds. Gardens and walking trails meander through the grounds. An outdoor walking labyrinth stands near the hospital entrance. Gazebos and peaceful rest areas allow patients, visitors and staff a respite from the hospital setting.

Playground equipment will soon be available on the Wellness Center lawn.

Our Focus On Patients And Families

Evidence-based studies have supported our notion that the environment we livein, work in, and visit, affects blood pressure, respiration, heart rate and, of course, stress. "We are taking advantage of this concept in every area of the hospital that we possibly can," says Cheryl Hensley, chief nursing officer of SLH.

Today, the patient's experience, as well as the experience of their families, is one of the most important considerations in planning and creating a pleasant hospital environment. A great deal of effort is placed on getting natural light to patients, for example, as well as staff, whenever possible.

While waiting for patients to heal within a comfortable, beautiful hospital environment, their families can take advantage of our naturally healing, tranquil gardens for sustaining their own health during sometimes difficult times.

We invite you to tour our campus and healing gardens! If you have questions, please call us at (707) 262-5171.
