Sutter Lakeside Recognized for Outstanding Patient Satisfaction

Sutter Lakeside Hospital has been recognized for outstanding patient satisfaction within the Sutter Health, not-for-profit, network of community-based health care providers.

The hospital was recently honored for "Most Improved" patient satisfaction scores in its small size hospital category during the 12-month period ending September 2002.
Each of Sutter Health's affiliated hospitals participate in an ongoing patient satisfaction assessment conducted by Press Ganey, an independent national research organization. The firm monitors and measures patient feedback at more than 1,000 hospitals across the United States.
Following discharge from a participating hospital, patients receive a common questionnaire from the research firm. It seeks opinions on hospital nursing and physician care, the facility, courtesy and sensitivity of staff members, admitting services and food.
Responses are mailed back to the firm, where the patients' opinions are tabulated. Overall results are shared with the hospitals on a quarterly basis.
"Through the Press Ganey Survey, our patients tell us what we do well and where we can improve, said CEO, Kelly Mather. "Our high scores confirm that our staff and physicians are doing an outstanding job. For health care service providers, there is no higher praise than that which comes directly from our patients."
At a recent awards ceremony, Sutter Lakeside Hospital received a traveling trophy that, each year, will be presented to the Sutter Hospital with the most improved patient satisfaction rankings in the small size category.
